The spark from the original coil was pretty good.
However, any spark can be greatly improved with the addition of
one of the many aftermarket products. There are two main players
in this arena, MSD and Jacobs. Products from both companies are
good, but I believe Jacobs are superior.

||Adding the Jacobs Omni Magnum and new plug wires
was the first thing I did after purchasing the Land Cruiser.
The pictures from the installation would have been the first
'addition' to the website, but those pictures didn't come out.
So here are the new photos.
||Adding a Jacobs Omni Magnum and Ultra Ceramic
Spark Plug wires have made a huge difference. The Omni Magnum
features dual coils for both low & high RPM performance.
It is controlled by a microprocessor and increases the spark
output as needed. This unit puts out 430 mJ (millijoules) of
energy and upwards of 40,000 volts at the plugs. The wires are
8.5mm thick with a metal core conductor. The insulation is 100%
silicone, and the wires & boots are vulcanized together.
Resulting in the engine starting quickly, even on the coldest
mornings and there isn't any hesitation. Mileage went from 9
mpg up to 9.6 miles per gallon. The upgrade was well worth the
hour of effort invested, and I know that if the cruiser doesn't
start (which has never happened), the problem won't be with
the Jacob's electronics.
